School Destroyed by Fire Hopes to Reopen this Fall

JUNE 5, 2006 -- A Chadbourn school destroyed by fire two years ago will soon be filled with the sounds of footsteps once again.

The Williams Township School in Chadbourn was gutted by an electrical fire in January of 2004.

Construction crews are now in the final stages of rebuilding the school. The Whiteville News Reporter says the structural work of the new building is complete. Now crews are working on the finishing touches.

According to the newspaper, the Project Coordinator is fairly certain the building will be complete for the 2006 school year.
