Pancake Breakfast Helps Ill Bladen County Boy

Wesley Pusey Wesley Pusey

JUNE 1, 2006 -- A 17 month old Bladen County boy desperately needs help and you can lend a hand this weekend.

Wesley Pusey has LCH, a blood disease that attacks his liver, spleen, skin and his ears. Wesley and his family are from Bladen County, but because his disease is so rare, he's forced to stay at a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.  One of Wesley's relatives in Wilmington is a member of the Cape Fear Optimist Club.

This weekend the club will sponsor a pancake breakfast to raise money for Wesley's treatment. The event is Saturday, June 3, at the Cape Fear Optimist Club. The pancake breakfast will be served from 6 a.m. until noon.  A five dollar donation will get you breakfast and an opportunity to help Wesley.  The Optimist Club will also hold an auction beginning at 10:00 Saturday morning.
