MAY 19, 2006 -- The town hall in Belville is now just a pile of rubble. The building went up about thirty years ago, but there hasn't been a town meeting there since June.
Town hall along with several other old buildings are being destroyed as a part of the town's revitalization program.
Eunice Long is the daughter of Belville's first mayor. She says the demolition is a step in the right direction for the town.
Another town hall will be built somewhere in downtown Belville as soon as possible. For now council members will continue to hold their meetings in a Leland strip mall.
