Murder Trial Continues in Wilmington

MAY 17, 2006 -- The murder trial for a Wilmington DJ continued Wednesday, and more witnesses for the defense took the stand.  Demond Wells is on trial for the murder of 26-year-old Roncin Sanders.  Prosecutors say Wells shot and killed Sanders in 2002 in the North 17th Shopping Center in Wilmington.

Two witnesses took the stand Wednesday, and a retired crime scene investigator also testified about the details of the murder.  This is the second time Wells has been on trial for the murder. He was convicted of second degree murder in 2004. The state court of appeals said he deserved a new trial because of an error in closing arguments.
