School Children Reach out to Young Cancer Patient

MAY 12, 2006 -- Local students are reaching out to a classmate with a deadly disease.

Six-year old Sarah Price has dealt with a lot over the past few months.

In January, the Bradley Creek Elementary 1st grader was diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer.

She frequently undergoes treatment in Durham and stays at the Ronald McDonald house for families and patients getting treatment.

Sarah's classmates packed up nearly 500 books and interactive DVD's that will go to Durham.

They're dedicating the contents for a library at the Ronald McDonald house that will bear Sarah's name.

Sarah will go back to Durham on Monday where she'll undergo treatment for the next four months. She plans to rejoin her classmates at Bradley Creek for second grade.
