Port City Java Rebuilding After Fire

MAY 10, 2006 -- Construction has started on a local coffee shop destroyed by fire last September.

The framework of the new Port City Java on Market Street in Wilmington is now up. It's expected to be complete in July.

The store went up in flames last year, after a car crashed into a gas main by the side of the building.

A company official says the new store is designed to be environmentally friendly. Plans for the new building also have provisions to prevent accidents like the one that destroyed it.
