MAY 8, 2006 -- A decision on who will be Wilmington's next mayor could come as early as Wednesday. Outgoing Mayor Spence Broadhurst has announced a special meeting to be held Wednesday night to select his successor.
Mayor Pro Tem Jim Quinn would have taken over on July 11 when Broadhurst leaves had council not selected anyone. However, Quinn says he is not really interested in the job.
The special meeting will held in City Council chambers at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.
