Crowds Gather for Wine Tasting Festival in Carolina Beach

MAY 7, 2006 -- A wine tasting event was held in Carolina Beach, with proceeds going to a good cause.

The Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project hosted a wine tasting fundraiser at Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar on Sunday afternoon.

The selection of wines and the friendly atmosphere drew more people than organizers expected.

The money raised at the event will go to environmental programs that protect sea turtles.

Part of the proceeds will also help programs run by the Topsail Turtle Project in Topsail Beach.
