APRIL 26, 2006 -- Two convicted murderers in Wilmington began serving their prison sentences Wednesday. Ovarias Criego and Fanta Jacobs were convicted of second degree murder Tuesday for the death of Tyrone Bunting two years ago.
The jury deliberated for more than eight hours before returning a verdict. Jacobs was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison, and received added time for possession of a firearm by a felon. Criego was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years.
Creigo and Jacobs spoke to the court before they were sentenced. Each expressed sorrow and remorse for their actions.
