Arson Suspected in Carolina Beach Fire

APRIL 24, 2006 -- Authorities suspect arson in a fire that broke out Sunday night in Carolina Beach.

The fire started in a three-story building just before 11o'clock Sunday night.

It happened in the 300 Block of Carolina Beach Avenue.

The fire caused damage to the 1st floor and smoke damage to the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Authorities say no one was injured.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames in about 30 minutes.

The building was part of the Paradise Inn Motel and was scheduled for demolition in the last week of April.
