Homeless Helped in Wilmington

APRIL 20, 2006 -- Several groups came together Thursday morning to help Wilmington's homeless.  Nearly 100 homeless people turned out at the National Guard Armory on Carolina Beach Road. The annual event trys to help homeless get off the streets. Among the organizations there was the Salvation Army. Nurses were also on hand to answer questions. The homeless were given clothes, food, and were allowed to make phone calls courtesy of U.S. Cellular.
