APRIL 7, 2006 -- A traffic stop turned into the biggest cocaine bust in Pender County history. Three people are charged in transporting the drugs for sale.
Pender County deputies pulled over a truck, on the suspicion they would find drugs inside. They didn't realize how many drugs they would find. It was a street value of more than $1-million.
Marcos Gopez Guzman, 23, Jorge Perez, 21, and Onan Escoto, 20, are in the Pender County jail under a $4-million bond. Sheriff Carson Smith says they were arrested Wednesday off Highway 421.
Deputies seized the cocaine, a hand gun and two cars they were driving.
