APRIL 6, 2006 -- History was on the mind of students competing for top honors in Wilmington Thursday. A team from Noble Middle School won this year's history bowl.
The quiz competition was held at Myrtle Grove Middle School. It featured teams of eighth graders answering sometimes mind-boggling questions about the state's history.
The annual event is sponsored by the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society. WECT's Jim Hanchett was the moderator at the bowl.
Myrtle Grove Middle School finished second. Students from Virgo, Roland-Grise and Murray Middle School also competed.
