Fast Food Giant Goes Smoke Free in Wilmington

MARCH 30, 2006 -- Starting in April, you can order a Big Mac and french fries, but you can't have a cigarette while you eat. Wilmington McDonald's restaurants will ban smoking inside the restaurants starting Saturday, April 1.

Many of the local franchises have already gone smoke-free, but those that haven't, like the one on College Road across from UNCW, are now joining the ban. The owner of the local franchises says it feels like the right thing to do.
