Prostitution Sting Nets Several in Downtown Wilmington

MARCH 30, 2006 -- Wilmington police are cracking down on the city's sex trade. Several people were arrested Thursday as police went undercover throughout the city's downtown streets, looking for prostitutes selling sex and the Johns who solicit them.

In all, three women were picked up for prostitution. One of those women was also charged for carrying cocaine. Four Johns were taken into custody after an undercover female officer posed as a prostitute to catch men looking for sex. In the process, two other men were busted for trying to sell crack cocaine.
