MARCH 29, 2006 -- The defense begins its case Wednesday in the murder trial of Darrell Maness.
The prosecution rested its case Tuesday, but not before the jury heard the details of Officer Mitch Prince's death. A pathologist testified that the three gun shot wounds to Prince were all fatal. The pathologist used a mannequin to illustrate where the shots came from.
He said no gunshot residue was found on the body. This means the shots were fired from at least 12-18 inches away.
Defense attorneys are expected to announce whether accused killer Darrell Maness will take the stand to testify in his own defense.
