MARCH 25, 2006 -- Employees at an adult care facility in Wilmington are threatening to quit.
About a dozen employees at the Meadows on Jasmine Cove Way tell us it's always a hassle to get paid. They raced to the bank before it closed on Friday evening after administrators told them money was in the account. However, when they tried to cash their checks, they say funds were not there.
The employees say this happens just about every pay period. Managers at the Meadows had no comment.
Recently, the facility was the focus of a state investigation that found serious shortcomings in the care of residents and in the cleanliness of the facility.
