Shooting Turns into Weapons Case

MARCH 16, 2006 -- What started out as a theft and then became a killing, has ended as a weapons case.

Prosecutors says Joe Daggs worked at Jerry's Furniture Refinishing in Wilmington which was also a video poker outlet. Daggs was held up. Officials say he then shot and killed one of the thieves. Prosecutors say that was in self-defense. But they also say he was carrying a concealed gun and was a felon. That led to several weapons charges. Thursday, Daggs said he was guilty and was sent to jail for four months.
