MARCH 13, 2006 -- Books like the "Harry Potter" series have drawn millions of children to reading.
A group of 5th graders in New Hanover County is trying to pass the joy of reading along to others.
A dozen 5th graders from the Friends School in Wilmington are holding a book fair. The book fair begins on Monday and runs through Friday.
The class will use profits from the book fair to buy more books.
The books will be donated to "Reach out and Read," which promotes literacy in pediatric care.
The program helps train doctors and nurses on the importance of giving kids books during their stay in the hospital.
Students who planned the book fair say they're thrilled to get the chance to help out.
