Wilmington Residents Make Bold Move for Cancer Research

MARCH 12, 2006 -- Children battling a potentially deadly disease received help from some special Wilmington residents. A St. Baldrick's Day celebration was held on Saturday in Wilmington.

Local residents and emergency services personnel shaved their heads to support childhood cancer research. They were cheered on by cast members from One Tree Hill who signed autographs at the event.

For each head shaved, money was donated to cancer research. The goal of the event was to raise $10,000 and show that bald can be beautiful.
