MARCH 3, 2006 -- Surfers need to pay close attention when they're out on the water. Dredging at Masonboro Inlet starts Saturday and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is warning surfers to watch out.
The dredging will continue through the end of April. During that time, crews will work around the clock in and around Masonboro Inlet, Masonboro Island, and Wrightsville Beach.
The Corps urges all surfers to use extreme caution in those areas and keep in mind their dark wetsuits will make it difficult for dredge operators to see them as they cross the inlet.
