FEBRUARY 24, 2006 -- Just two weeks after hiring a new executive director, the board of directors at the Wilmington Children's Museum is making a move in a different direction.
The board voted to fire Judy Caldwell who had been hired as the executive director after working at the children's museum in Memphis. The board is giving no specific reason for Caldwell's dismissal. Officials say Caldwell's departure will have no impact on the museum's plan to open at its new location in downtown Wilmington in April.
Until a permanent replacement can be found, the museum will be run on an interim basis by Linda Dallas, who worked at a children's attraction in Raleigh.
