FEBRUARY 24, 2006 -- Ceremonies were held at Camp Lejeune on Friday to mark the beginning of a new Marine Corps Special Operations Command.
The new command will be activated by the end of the decade. The corps will select 2,500 Marines to participate.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was among those speaking during the event. He says this corps is needed to come up with new and innovative ways to fight terrorism.
Officers put the 11-year-old in cuffs, patted her down and put her in the back of a cop car as her mother pleaded with police not to take her daughter.
