FEBRUARY 17, 2006 -- Two bad accidents backed up traffic on two busy roads.
In Pender County, a woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Interstate 40 near the New Hanover County line.
Troopers say an elderly woman blacked out and ran off the road, hitting the side of the bridge over the Cape Fear River. Her car flipped over, but she suffered no major injuries.
In Brunswick County, an 18-wheel truck carrying more than 20 tons of lumber flipped over, sending its load all over the road.
It happened at the intersection of Highway 74/76 and Northwest Road. No one was injured.
