FEBRUARY 10, 2006 -- A jury in Horry County has delivered a verdict in the case of a mother accused of killing her only daughter.  They found Vartasha McCullough guilty of homicide by child abuse.

McCullough was accused of killing her four-year-old daughter, Kynande Bennett.  Kynande disappeared from a K-Mart in Whiteville in 2002. Her body has not been found.

McCullough broke into tears and clutched a Bible when the judge sentenced her to up to 20 years in prison. Her family was visibly upset. McCullough's father had a chance to speak to the judge. He agreed he made a 911 call saying he thought Kynande was being abused, but he says he believes his daughter is innocent.

Vartasha McCullough was also found guilty of unlawful neglect and inflicting great bodily injury on a child.
