FEBRUARY 10, 2006 -- Tuition and fees are going up at UNC Wilmington and the other schools in the UNC system. Friday, the board of governors approved a 12.6% increase for UNCW. That's in line with what the school's board of trustees had requested.
Tuition and fees at Chapel Hill are going up 8% and 20% at Appalachian State.
The tuition increases will bring in extra revenue of nearly $21 million for pay raises for professors and administrators and almost $19 million to help cover tuition for financially needy students.
