FEBRUARY 10, 2006 -- As a part of a special series this black history month, WECT is celebrating the achievements of African-Americans, beginning with a local hero.
WECT reporter Nicole Ferguson talked one-on-one with Joseph McNeil. He's the Wilmington man who's defiance to injustice helped spark a national movement, the Greensboro sit-in. News of the sit-in spread like wildfire and peaked the interest of many who wanted to fight civil injustice. It was a tough feat, only meant for those who would follow certain rules.
