Leland Police Department Gets New Equipment

FEBRUARY 3, 2006 -- A local police department is getting some help to patrol it's increasingly populated streets.

The Leland Police Department is showing off their new equipment, all thanks to a traffic safety grant from the governor's office.

More than  $160,000 has helped fund two new police cruisers, a motorcycle, as well as some radar guns.

They say the new equipment will help the police department conduct a more efficient operation.

The funds are also helping to pay the salary of two of the officers who will use the equipment.
