Women Wanted for Writing Fake Checks

JANUARY 26, 2006 -- Authorities say two women have been writing thousands of dollars in fake checks. Now the State Bureau of Investigation needs help to find the duo.

A picture of the two was taken at Lowe's Food Store on Oleander Drive in Wilmington. The SBI says the women wrote at least 12 rubber checks in Wilmington, as well as in Florence and Columbia, South Carolina. The checks totaled around $10,000.

The women are in their mid-20's and just over five feet tall. If you see them, you're asked to call the SBI's hotline. That toll free number is 1-800-334-3000.
