JANUARY 22, 2006 -- A young girl from Brunswick County born with a unique disease is getting some special attention.
The "Make a Wish" foundation of North Carolina sent Samantha Stokes and her family to Disney World for a week-long vacation.
Samantha was born with epilepsy and was just recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Samantha's aunt contacted the organization and helped plan the trip.
Samantha's parents say she's a normal child who enjoys playing with friends and dreams of going to Disney World. The foundation granted Samantha's wish to see Tinker Bell.
The "Make-a-Wish" foundation of North Carolina needs more volunteers to make dreams come true. If you would like to help, you can call 1-800-432-WISH. The foundation has granted more than 1,300 wishes.
