JANUARY 20, 2006 -- Police vehicles created a commotion Friday on 3rd Street in downtown Wilmington.
Police pulled over a Nissan Altima. They had reason to believe the people inside were connected to a series of robberies in Pender County.
One of the passengers was wanted for child support in Pender County. Police first thought the vehicle might have been involved in the robberies, but now say there is no evidence supporting that.
The man wanted on child support has been taken to the Pender County Jail where sheriff's deputies will question him further.
The driver of the car was cited for operating without insurance. Two other passengers were released by police.
