JANUARY 16, 2006 -- Rice vs. Clinton: that's what a prominent political analyst told an audience in Wilmington to expect in the next presidential election.
Dick Morris is a former advisor to President Bill Clinton. He's now a New York Post columnist. He gave an election preview for a gathering at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside Monday.
County Commissioner Bill Caster and former state Senator Patrick Ballentine were among the local political insiders in the audience.
Morris says he wouldn't be surprised if Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice takes on New York Senator Hillary Clinton in 2008. Morris' speech was arranged by the John Locke Foundation, a conservative think tank based in Raleigh.
