Masked Man Robs Two Local Businesses

JANUARY 16, 2006 -- Twice in less than 24 hours, a man in a skeleton mask has held up businesses in the Wilmington area.

New Hanover County sheriff's investigators say the boney bandit held up a Kangaroo gas station on Castle Hayne Road Monday morning. Not only was he wearing a skeleton mask, he also had on a black hood.

Investigators aren't sure, but they say it's possible it's the same man who robbed a Wendy's restaurant on the corner of Market Street and Porter's Neck Road Sunday night. He was also in a skeleton mask.

Authorities say the two robberies could be the work of one man or a group. If you have any information contact the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.
