Paying More for Postage

JANUARY 8, 2006 -- If you still have 37-cent stamps in your wallet or purse, you'll need to buy a few more stamps to go along with them.

Starting Sunday, those 37-cent stamps are no good unless they're accompanied by more postage. The cost of stamps has gone up to 39 cents.

Two cents may not seem like much, but experts say it will most likely hit the pockets of large businesses like credit card companies, water companies and universities. North Carolina's state government spends more than $36 million dollars a year on postage.
