Shoppers Return Unwanted Presents and Cash in on Gift Cards

DECEMBER 26, 2005 -- The day after Christmas is a day when people hit the stores to return unwanted presents or cash in on their holiday gift cards.

WECT Reporter Kacey Gaumer stopped by the Barnes and Noble in the Mayfaire Town Center to talk to shoppers. People there were still busy shopping for the day after Christmas sales.

Like many other stores, Barnes and Noble saw a lot of shoppers returning gifts they received for Christmas. Managers at the store say many shoppers were also redeeming gift certificates.

Dean Grey was out shopping on Monday and noticed the large crowds.

"There's a long line in the stores everywhere. Everyone's trying to return all their merchandise and bad gifts they got over Christmas," said Grey.
