NOVEMBER 23, 2005 -- Interstate 40 has seen a lot of tires as everyone hits the road for home this Thanksgiving. Many college students are included in the crowd.
They say they're not excited about the drive or spending the money on gas, but they're happy to spend time with their families. Many had driving companions with them, four-legged friends. They say the pets help make the trip a little easier.
Another way to make the most of trip is to play it safe and watch the roads. It's very important to be alert. A sleepy driver is not a safe driver.
Also, if you want to know where you might run into some trouble or delays on the road, you can call 511. That's the state's travel line. It's a great way to get an update, before you head out.
