"Loop Troop" Keeps Walking in Honor of Murdered Friend

NOVEMBER 9, 2005 -- A group of women are grateful Robert Hewson is now behind bars. Wednesday Gail Tice's closest friends, in a tribute of sorts, walked the loop they used to share with the murder victim.

The self-proclaimed "Loop Troop" is made up of more than a dozen women. They are friends who exercised together for several years.

Early Wednesday morning, two of those women made their first lap around the Wrightsville Beach loop since Tuesday's guilty verdict. They say it was special. They even felt like Gail was walking with them.

The women have also started a foundation in Tice's memory.
