NOVEMBER 8, 2005 -- UNC Wilmington is taking an unusual step this week, briefing students and parents about security measures on campus because of a network television show.
That show will focus on the murders of UNCW students Jessica Faulkner and Christen Naujoks. They were killed in separate incidents last year, and that prompted the university to beef up security and take steps to screen potential students.
The letters and e-mails to parents and students outline those measures. A UNCW spokeswoman says the school didn't want people to be blind-sided by the broadcast.
