OCTOBER 26, 2005 -- Wilmington area pre-schoolers strapped on their helmets and hopped on anything with two-wheels Wednesday in order to help fight childhood diseases.
Several dozen pre-schoolers from the day care center at Cape Fear Community College zoomed around Tabitha's Courtyard in downtown Wilmington, participating in the second annual trike-a-thon. The event helps raise funds for cancer research at Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
The kids have learned about bike safety this week and why their fundraising is important.
Thanks to donations from parents and friends, the pre-schoolers hope to raise $3,000.
