City Council to Discuss Sewage Spills

OCTOBER 18, 2005 -- Three large sewage spills in Wilmington since July are spurring action from the city council.

Council members Wednesday night will consider approving $138,000 for an evaluation of the city's wastewater system. The money will also help pay for the design of a new parallel line along Shipyard Boulevard.

Some council members say this will be the first step in determining what's wrong with the city's system. The council is hoping to see the results of the sewer system study in the next two months.
