Man Accused of Murder in Robeson Co. Behind Bars

OCTOBER 10, 2005 -- An accused murderer is behind bars in Robeson County after what appears to be a case of yard rage.

William Locklear was arraigned on a first degree murder charge Monday afternoon.

Investigators say Locklear shot Christopher Jones with a high powered rifle after Jones vandalized his mailbox and used his four wheeler to drive through Locklear's mother's yard.

The incident took place around 8:00 Saturday night on John L. Road in the Maxton area.
