WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The second year of the UNCW Seahawk Club's Coaches Caravan is ready to go, with the first stop scheduled for Tuesday at the Battleship North Carolina.
The event runs from 6-8 p.m., and will feature all of UNCW's head coaches -- including men's basketball head coach C.B. McGrath, women's basketball head coach Karen Barefoot and baseball head coach Mark Scalf, in a meet-and-greet format on the historic ship.
Tickets are $20 each and includes a program and dinner provided by Poor Piggy's.
In addition, fans in attendance will have an opportunity to win prizes from UNCW Athletics.
"We appreciated the great support with the caravan last year and look forward to growing our presence again this fall," said Adam Fearing, executive director of the Seahawk Club. "There are a lot of exciting things happening with UNCW Athletics and the Seahawk Club. These events are a terrific way to reach out to our many fans and supporters locally and statewide."
Two other events are scheduled around the state. A caravan will be held in Charlotte at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, and the swing concludes the next day, Sept. 6, with a stop at the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe in Raleigh from 6-8 p.m.
