A 14-year-old was bitten by a shark Sunday at Atlantic Beach according to WITN.
The boy was surfing by the Dunes Club just before 11 a.m. when a shark bit him twice on his right leg just below the knee, WITN reports.
Atlantic Beach Fire Chief, Adam Snyder, said the shark let go of the boy's leg quickly when it realized it wasn't a fish.
The boy was able to swim back to shore. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
WITN says no one was able to see the shark because the water was rough and murky.
This was the first shark bite this season at Atlantic Beach according to WITN.
