Low-interest rate loans help North Carolina students close the tuition gap

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC), a free service that helps college-bound students and their families plan, apply, and pay for higher education, now offers low-interest rate loans for students attending college in the state.

The loan is meant to close the tuition gap for undergraduate and graduate students.

The new NC Assist Loan program provides families an affordable option without the hassle of costly fees or pre-payment penalties.

"Far too often, bright futures are dimmed by the rising cost of tuition and the financial aid that falls short," said Wendy McAlister, President of College Foundation, Inc. "NC Assist Loans is another tool in our arsenal of resources to help North Carolina college students fulfill their dreams of a college degree and a promising career. Families have enough to worry about as they prepare for the expense of college. We're offering an easy, convenient loan process that allows students to take charge of their future or allow their parents to support them in this important chapter of their lives."

To apply, go to CFNC.org or contact the foundation at (866) 886-CFNC (2362).
