BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Sunday voting will be offered in Brunswick County for the first time.
The State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement approved a proposal allowing voters in Brunswick County to cast their ballots Oct. 28 from noon-4 p.m. at satellite locations.
A similar proposal was approved for Pender County on Oct. 28 from noon-5 p.m.
"We all agree that voting is a fundamental right of every American citizen," Randy Pelton, chairman of the Brunswick County Board of Elections, said in a news release. "We hope all voters in Brunswick County exercise that right in the upcoming election."
Two plans were submitted to the state board, one that included voting on a Sunday and another that didn't.
