SEPTEMBER 20, 2005 -- A very distinguished guest was welcomed on Tuesday night at the Wilmington City Council meeting. It's not a sight Wilmington sees everyday. The Ambassador from Belize came to the Port City.
In fact, the last time an Ambassador visited Wilmington was more than 60 years ago.
Lisa Shoman addressed the council members. She is here to celebrate the official opening of an honorary Belizean Consulate here in Wilmington.
The goal is to help promote trade and tourism between the US and Belize.
