WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Which food delivery service could get an order to the WECT newsroom faster?

That was the question at least two WECT employees — news director Scott Saxton and reporter Chelsea Donovan — had Thursday.

UberEATS is a food delivery service that launched in Wilmington on Thursday.

To see if UberEATS was faster than the more established Cape Fear Delivery, Saxton and Donovan each placed identical orders from the same restaurant at 4:55 p.m. Saxton ordered through Cape Fear Delivery and Donovan used UberEATS.

Donovan, who partially tracked her order on the 5:30 p.m. newscast, got her food at 5:44. Saxton's arrived at 6:10.

It was the first UberEATS delivery for James, who brought Donovan her food on his way from work.

Both deliveries were made during the severe thunderstorms that hit the area Thursday and Cape Fear's delivery driver apologized to Saxton for the delay.
