WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Former UNCW women's basketball player Rebekah Banks is one of 581 nominees for the 28th annual NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

The award honors those who excel in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.

Banks had a 3.96-grade point average for her career, earning a B.A. in economics and a B.S. in business administration with a minor in Spanish.

Banks started 78-of-106 games in her Seahawks career and averaged 4.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Her 718 career rebounds rank seventh in school history.
