WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Many UNCW students recently left for the summer, but in a couple of months, they'll be moving back, and they may have a new place to live.
The developer sent the city plans in October 2017, but construction hasn't started. According to the Wilmington Planning Commission, the status of the project is "inactive."
The planning commission said the developer, Cape Fear Commercial, sent in plans for the property, and the city sent back comments that the developer hasn't addressed yet.
Some of those comments include clarifying the boundaries of the area and changing the handicap sign detail on the plan to meet Americans with Disabilities Act and city standards.
Until all of the comments are addressed, the developer can't move forward.
WECT reached out to the developer and engineer for the project and haven't heard back.
