WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Technology has created a lot of brave souls these days. Anyone can comment on social media. Anyone can fire off a nasty email.
But I grow a bit more concerned when people are having a hard time treating each other respectfully in public places.
The latest examples involved the press secretary for the White House getting asked to leave a restaurant. And a woman at a drug store being refused prescription medication to overcome a miscarriage.
These events are leading to lots of discussions. Every side thinks they're above the other. And we're getting nowhere in treating each other kinder.
Consider This: It is not a sign of weakness to simply apply the Golden Rule in these situations. I think people need to step back and start from a point of trying to understand each other before trying to tear them down.
